My hands are used to writing letters
I got this natural fixation for a pen and paper
Long time ago made a promise to draft a thousand words,
when I finally find the one who'd strike a chord

Yet, you arrived carrying your own unfamiliar cadence
like a music or a language I'm determined to master with patience
Treading your ways of love led me to the kitchen
saving reels of the different ways to cook a chicken

The intimidating word that is homemaking
is now an art I daily enjoy learning
My scribbles somehow arrange themselves into the grocery list
Hands now trained to flipping lunchboxes, not just pages

All because you love me with such fondness,
my imperfect, gentle beloved, full of calmness

This is how I will love you
and this is the way you will be loved --
with discipline, with much tenacity and diligence
In this season and the ones to come, through storms and rain
My vow, I pray by God's mercy, will not be in vain
