February holds a special place in my heart. It serves as a keeper of memories from the first few dates I had with my husband a year ago - the awkward lunches and coffee dates with chaperones at the other table. They are amusing to remember. 😄

This year, February has been a joyful, eventful month. Firstly, I had the opportunity to travel with my love ... only us for the first time! With just the maps and travel apps to guide us, it turned out to be a thrilling adventure: the first-time rides, the underground cave experience, the ordinary moments in the pool, and the afternoon walks under the shades of coconut trees.

Our anniversary 'celebration' is cozy and simple, it's like our regular dinner at home, only that my love cooked three dishes and a dessert. 😋 This is my favorite part of this month - being able to spend time in conversations (+over food). Even though they look mundane, these moments allow me to get to know my husband deeper.

the dessert: (not so)burnt basque cheesecake

I used to think I'd end up with someone with the same 'wavelength' as mine, but apparently the gospel is a gracious, miraculous thread that makes one, even the most different from you, attractive and lovable. What a twist of fate and a wonderful Sovereign work of God to be loved by someone whose gentleness I do not deserve. Our differences in perspective and personality at times cause conflicts, but as long as we look to the same example of Love that Christ displayed, I believe these differences would only allow us to learn patience and forbearance — the very things I stubbornly have a hard time practicing.

It is a new world on this side, having someone attached to you for the rest of your life. I can only imagine motherhood!!! But I'm taking it one step at a time. For now, being a wife is both a duty and my joy. A complete novice at the moment, yes, but an eager learner.

See you around.
