To follow Christ is to enter a warzone where you will be mocked, persecuted, and even be killed. Sufferings are to be expected especially when you live in a world where the commands of God are seen as unnecessary, untrue, or irrelevant and where those who strive to follow it are called by different names. It may get discouraging at times but here's a truth to ponder:

The trials that we will meet in the path of obedience to Christ are testings of our faith in which eventually will produce steadfastness in us. (James 1:2)

When things get too heavy and confusing; when it is easier to give in to temptation and neglect the faith, ask God for wisdom for He gives it generously without reproach. Ask in faith! (James 1:5)

We may be cursed, mocked, and hated because we strive to follow Christ and stand by His Word, we may lose some people in the way, we may be left broken, hurt, and wrestling against this world but at the end of this life is the sweet reward in the form of being united with Christ FOREVER.

Blessed is the man who remains
steadfast under trial
for when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life
which God has promised
to those who love him.  (James 1:12)

See you around,
- N

ps: no, you should not struggle alone. This is why you are called to be in the Body (the church) so you have people to walk (& struggle) life with! :)
